Prat has suspension stayed a week

ARCADIA, Calif. – Flavien Prat was granted a stay of a three-day suspension for careless riding and will serve the suspension June 23-25 instead of this Thursday through Saturday. Prat was penalized for “altering course without sufficient clearance and causing interference” while aboard Fashionly Handsome in race 1 on June 9. Fashionly Handsome finished third; there was no disqualification.

Prat (26 wins) is the second-leading rider behind Rafael Bejarano (29) at the spring meet. Prat’s suspension includes June 25, Gold Cup Day. His agent, Derek Lawson, said Prat has a call that day on Taris in the Grade 1 Triple Bend and expects to ride Bal a Bali in the Grade 1 Gold Cup.

If a jockey rides two or more designated races on a card during a suspension, he must serve an additional day of suspension.

◗ Brandon Boulanger was suspended three racing days (June 18, 19 and 23) for careless riding in race 10 on June 11.
