ALTOONA, Iowa - Invaderfromtheeast heads a field of 11 in Friday night's $50,000-added Iowa Stallion Futurity at Prairie Meadows.

Invaderfromtheeast, one of four winners entered in the six-furlong race, finished third, beaten 7 3/4 lengths, to top Iowa-bred 2-year-old El Saddler in the Iowa Cradle Stakes here in his most recent start Aug. 31.

In the Iowa Cradle, Invaderfromtheeast experienced minor traffic trouble and was steadied approaching the stretch.

The manner in which Triage won his debut here on Aug. 26 against statebred maiden special weight company suggests he may be a factor as he steps up to face stakes rivals. In that 5 1/2-furlong maiden race, Triage dueled on the backstretch before he put away his pace foes, and drew off to a 6 1/2-length victory.

Triage and Invaderfromtheeast each were supplemented to the Stallion Futurity for $7,500. The fees will swell the purse for the race to more than $70,000.
