Prairie Meadows: Hesablumin can turn tables

It appears that the $60,000 Iowa Stallion Stakes might turn into a rematch between the first two finishers in the Gray's Lake Stakes, which was run on Memorial Day weekend.

Sharkiowa got the better of Hesablumin in the Gray's Lake, but in this mile and 70-yard race around two turns Hesablumin might be able to turn the tables.

Hesablumin seemed to relish his first attempt at a distance of ground in his most recent start, and with his rail draw under Richard Monterrey he figures to dictate the pace.

While Hesablumin appeared to be comfortable at a route of ground, the same can't be said of Sharkiowa. After becoming a stakes winner, Sharkiowa was asked to try a mile, and he tired to finish sixth. Terry Thompson once again has the call.

Judy Faye, the lone filly in the nine-horse field, has proved that she can adapt to different running styles and, if necessary, can come from off the pace. With the speed drawn inside of her, that might be her best strategy.

Carlos Montalvo, who has ridden Judy Faye in her last two wins, gets the call.
