Email

Camela Carson and Sunrise-ontheoasis are the ones to beat when a field of 11 3-year-old Iowa-bred fillies meet in the $50,000 Bob Bryant Stakes at Prairie Meadows.

Camela Carson scored a game neck victory against statebred one-other-than allowance rivals in her last start on May 6, dueling throughout before inching clear at the wire under jockey Perry Compton.

Camela Carson has recorded three straight Beyers in the mid- to high- 60's, making her the most consistent runner entered in the six-furlong Bryant. Camela Carson sports a record of 2-2-2 from 6 starts, good for $45,010 in earnings for her owner-breeders, RPM Thoroughbreds. Trainer Kelly Von Hemel has given Compton a return call aboard Camela Carson.

Sunriseontheoasis defeated Camela Carson by 2 1/2 lengths here on April 22, leading wire to wire while making her first start of the year and her first ever for trainer Larry Jones.

A daughter of Gilded Time, Sunriseontheoasis returned to the races here May 14 and raced close up throughout before settling for third, beaten 1 3/4 lengths by older stakes-placed rival Butter Crunch. Wade Rini has a return call aboard Sunriseontheoasis.

French Clu has done little wrong in her three-race career, having scored two wins and a second-place finish. In her most recent start, French Clu pressed the pace from the rail to the stretch before scoring a 1 1/2-length victory over entry-level Iowa-bred allowance company here at six furlongs on May 6. Luis Ranilla will once again ride French Clu.
