Prado bats .750 at OBS races

OCALA, Fla. - Edgar Prado rode three of the four winners of the OBS Championship Stakes series on Monday's all-stakes program at the Ocala Training Center.

Prado's streak began in the $50,000 OBS Sprint for 3 year-old fillies at six furlongs when he guided Shot Gun Favorite to a neck victory over the pace-making Hope for Love.

The second race, the $50,000 OBS Sprint for 3-year-old males at six furlongs, was won by last year's Sapling Stakes winner, Valid Video. With Prado aboard, he pulled away to a 3 1/2-length victory.

In the $100,000 OBS Championship Stakes, 3-year-old filly division at 1 1/16 miles, Prado took Running Debate back to last, then let her roll passing the half-mile marker. By midstretch she had put daylight between herself and Scapade, and at the finish there was a winning margin of nearly a dozen lengths.

Prado missed the sweep with a third-place finish in the $100,000 OBS Championship Stakes, 3-year-olds colts and geldings division at 1 1/16 miles, on Just Say the Word, also trained by Plesa. The Name's Bond scored a three-length victory over Coach Jimi Lee. Gary Boulanger rode the winner in the track-record time of 1:44.20
