Political Force joining Claiborne roster

EmailPolitical Force, winner of the Surburban Handicap this year, will enter stud at Claiborne Farm in Paris, Ky., at the conclusion of his racing career, the farm announced Thursday.

A 4-year-old Unbridled's Song colt, Political Force finished fifth his last time out, in the Sept. 1 Woodward, and is pointing for the Sept. 30 Jockey Club Gold Cup Handicap at Belmont Park.

A homebred for owner Joseph Allen, Political Force is the third foal and first stakes winner out of the Grade 1-winning millionaire Glitter Woman, by Glitterman.

Political Force has won 4 of his 16 races and has earned $535,232. He finished second in the Grade 1 Metropolitan Handicap and third in the Skip Away and Westchester handicaps this year. He ran second in the 2005 Nashua Stakes. Allen Jerkens trains the colt.

"Political Force was raised here at Claiborne, and we're extremely pleased to have him coming back to stand," said a Claiborne representative Bernie Sams, adding that the farm also stood Political Force's late grandsire Unbridled and currently stands a son of Unbridled, Eddington.
