Jim Morrill Jr. is the latest driver to have 7,000 career victories after picking up a hat trick to reach the milestone on Sunday night at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono. Morrill Jr.'s set the table by winning race seven with John Butenschoen trainee Spin Around Man (1:58) and race 11 with Les Givens's Movin' On Up (1:55 3/5), then won number 7,000 in race 13 with Indy Ingot, a Joe Pavia Jr. trainee, in 1:54 3/5. This is the second straight year Morrill Jr. has reached a major milestone, as last September he joined harness racing's $100 million club for drivers.
