Pocono: Horses to watch from Sept. 15 - Sept. 19

Tuesday, September 15

PILGRIMS MYSTIC (NW1) was off stride at the start, recovered and was racing third over when wiped out by another breaker. Beaten favorite can atone if he stays flat.

ENDLESSS SUMMER (NW1/2YOF) raced uncovered a long way and was held at bay. Beaten favorite will win her share of races.

NO REASON AT ALL (NW3/2-4YO) flashed some late foot in last at 19-1 and should not be ignored in next.

WIRE ME CASH (NW3/2-4YO) put in a good down the road effort in last at 50-1 facing  pressure from the half to the wire and earns respect off that.

CANTABS FORTUNE (NW3000) yielded, retook and bid the field adieu. Should take another.

Wednesday, September 16

PAN LUIS OBISPO (NW4500FM) was parked to the lead, yielded, got stung again on the retake, set a good clip and tired. Beaten prohibitive favorite gets a pass and another look in next.

EXHILERATED (NW6300FM) was blindswitched a long way, had willing pace once clear but the race had gotten away from her.

MARATHON DAY (NW18000FM) got shuffled as the lead changed in the final turn, cleared and set down with good pace but it was too late.

EVERYMILEAMEMORY (CLMHCP125/15000M) was behind a dead one going to the third panel, got shuffled out and lost any chance.

Friday, September 18

JB OUI OUI (NW3000) set a good clip and was best in what amounted to a two-horse race.

MEADOWVIEW ARTY (NW3000) sat pocket chasing the top one all around the track second best at every call and should beat most this level.

CITY PIE (NW4500) slipped out in the final, found the pedal and roared home to just miss. He should be able to find winner's circle in quick order.

RACER X (CLMHCP125/15000) set a good pace and won by open lengths. Can do it again if he can do it again.

PREPARTY (NW3000) put an early challenger in the pocket at the half, set a good clip and held well. Connections keep 'em in shape and at winning levels.

Saturday, September 19

MASSIVE TALENT (NW18000) came high, wide and handsome roaring through the stretch in last from beyond the fringe and just missed at 12-1. Do not ignore again.

ROCKIN WIZARD (NW8500) challenged the pacesetting favorite, refused to go away but was second best in most recent outing.

TREVOR WIN FOR US (CLMHCP125/15000) tried his best to do just that in last but it seemed the entire field ganged up on him. Well bet favorite rushed to the lead, met pressure all the way to the stretch and tired. Can atone if he gets any time to take a deep breath in next outing.

OVERLOADED (CLMHCP15/20000) was severely overworked in last having to go wide early to clear traffic, got parked uncovered, pressed to the lane and tired. In what amounted to a three-horse race, this well bet third favorite should find an easier spot soon.
