Pocono: Horses to watch from June 30 - July 5

Email

Tuesday, June 30

MR FANTASY (NW1/3-4YO) was quick to the lead, yielded, retook, yielded again, sat pocket, rallied inside, had aim but the third move was too much. Beaten favorite should atone in quick order.

BADIX HANOVER (NW5/3-4YO) was in the pocket looking good when the winner made a huge final turn move to take the lead heading home causing this one to lose a few steps. He tipped and rallied gamely but the winner had gotten away.

SHEZAREALDEAL (PaAllStars) made a bold move to the third panel and into the lane, tested the odds-on pacesetter but was second best while continuing to be second best at 9-1.

KING OF DELIGHT (NW2/3-4YO) was on the rail, shuffled in the final turn behind a tired one, angled out, closed with pace but it was too little, too late. Beaten favorite should not be ignored in next.

Wednesday, July 1

ANDOVER THE CASH (NW5/3-4YO) sat pocket, rallied gamely but speed was holding all night.

FLASHBACKS (NW13500) went down the road with the favorite in his pocket and was second best in the photo.

AMELIOSI (PaAllStars) got a shuffle to the three-hole, pulled, challenged, did not have enough. Should find a field to beat soon.

PAYDAZE ON THE WAY (NW10000M) sat raging and ready in the pocket, got her chance turning home and was a game winner. Should be able to make her presence felt in next race or two.

Friday, July 3

DABUNKA (CLM11000) beaten favorite went down the road pressed hard by two separate foes and dug in gamely but was nipped by the even money second choice who had sat the perfect pocket trip.

ANOTHER DAILY COPY (PaAllStars) rallied gamely uncovered at 31-1 and earned second place. Another day or another trip and he could have earned top honors.

BROMANCE HANOVER (NW3000) took the lead quickly, yielded but was shuffled when the winner brushed, tipped heading home with good finish and should find own field to beat soon.

RANCOUSY (NW9500) followed the wide flow in the final turn and finished full of pace from an impossible spot.

Saturday, July 4

HUMILITY (NW17500) went down the road gamely but was nipped on the wire by the short priced favorite.

JK ENDOFANERA (OPN) beaten favorite finished full of pace but was too far to back to get it done.

YAGONNAKISSMEORNOT (OPNM) put in a good down the road effort but was caught on the wire by the well driven pocket sitting second choice. Beaten favorite can atone in next race or two.

ARTACHE HANOVER (NW13000) came uncovered in the final turn, was not going to get to the top two but gamed out third at 60-1.

Sunday, July 5

GREAT ARTIST (CLMHCP25/30000) was parked three wide to the quarter, settled back to tuck, pulled to third panel second over, got blindswitched in the last turn, flattened and tired. Beaten favorite is eligible for quick return to winners circle.

ROARING REI (NW3300) was out to the lead, yidled and was shuffled back, raced second over and closed well to get second in the photo. A better trip would obviously work for better results.

REDS WINNER (NW1/3-4YOFM) lost the winner's cover but continued gamely to the wire and just missed.

FOOLS REVENUE (NW4500) was parked the mile, challenged the middle half before tiring.
