Pocono: Horses to watch from July 16 - July 22

Wednesday, July 16

CORONA WITH LIME (CLMHCP75/10000) went down the road and proved to be the easiest of winners with plenty left for next time.

QUANTUM LIGHTNING (CLM10000) set a new lifetime mark in front stepping crusher and can strike again.

BUTTON FLY (CLM15000) went down the road in good try getting nosed at the wire by the pocket sitter.

CYPRESS HILL SUDS (CLM5000M) put in one of the most determined efforts of all time or so it seemed. She yielded the lead, retook, yielded again and immediately retook the second time, set the pace under harsh pressure, dug in dead game keeping all the holes closed until the winner escaped a blindswitch in the last step. Our heroine gets the bravery medal for the evening despite behind a `beaten-up' favorite and earns long look in next race or two.

Friday, July 18

CCS LOVER N (CLM7500) finished full of pace from 4th over in last at 37-1 and will be no surprise in next.

MY FELLA (CLM5000) chased the winner uncovered, tucked by the third panel, proved to be second best. Beaten favorite can atone in next.

PEOPLE FRIENDLY (NW4000M) came uncovered at the 10 cents on the dollar favorite and prompted the pace to the lane before weakening. Next time, a better trip against a lesser foe could spell victory.

Saturday, July 19

IDEAL MATTERS (NW12500) was looped off the gate, got used to the top, set a good clip and was second best in quick mile to well-seasoned pocket sitting foe.

AHEAD OFTHE CURVE (CLMHCP20/25000) was parked early biding his time as the lead was changing, stepped it up, challenged the new leader, took over, set a pressed pace and gutted it out all the way but could not last.

DOMETHATAGAIN (PRFHCP) was used to the lead, yielded, pulled the pocket and challenged hard to the lane, closed gamely but the late closing odds on winner was too much.

FITZS Z TAM (CLM10000) was an impressive off the pace winner in last and seemed to have plenty left.

Sunday, July 20

SKITSOFRANTIC (CLM5000) set a good clip and continued his winning way coasting through the lane.

ARTS SUPER STAR (CLM5000) was parked from early on, chased uncovered in quick mild to the lane and tired.

DAWSON CITY (CLM5000) left, tucked, rallied gamely to be second best to quick footed favorite.

KEYSTONE TREVOR (NW1) was awesome on the front end jogging away from all to win by 10 in last.

Tuesday, July 22

YAGOT CLASS (NW4) beaten favorite was nailed on the wire after a down the road effort over a tiring track and should find winners circle.

DEB ON BROADWAY (NW1) could have picked a better night to try the pacesetting route to earn a victory but only missed a head at 17-1.

SAFE FROM TERROR (NW2/2YOF) wired the field setting the pace under long, strong pressure and will be hard to take down in next outing.

TAMASIN HALL (CLMHCP20/25000) lost cover heading home but still won going away and should be hard to beat in next.
