Pocono: Horses to watch from August 6 - August 12

Wednesday, August 6

FRENCHMEN (CLM10000) had the pocket and had aim on the tiring leader but ran in a step near the wire, steadied for a step and lost his chance.

ROCKIN GLORY (CLMHCP15/20000) was used hard and long to the lead, met some pressure the last quarter and dug in gamely.

CYPRESS HILL SUDS (CLMHCP5/7500M) tucked early, pulled uncovered at the half, challenged, took the lead mid-lane and held all out versus the late closers.

CASANOVA LINDY (CLM10000) won strongly from the pocket at first asking for new connections to break string of second place finishes looking like there was plenty left for next time.

Friday, August 8

SIM BROWN (NW4000) took the lead, yielded, got shuffled, pulled uncovered, chased, tucked the pocket when it opened, rallied again in the lane but missed by a nose. Beaten favorite can atone in next.

FLYING INSTRUCTOR (NW7300) rushed home with big finish but just missed to the odds-on favorite.

GODDESSS ROSA (NW17500M) was pressed hard twice in front-stepping effort and the super tripped-out favorite won easily.

AMERICAN VENTURE (NW4000) busted the bias with huge wide rally to win going away.

Saturday, August 9

ITS THAT TIME (CLMHCP20/25000) was on the lead at the quarter, yielded, pulled the pocket passing the third panel and challenged all the way home but was second best.

SUMMER CAMP (NW15500) came uncovered to the half, chased all the way to be second best as the winner proved to be much the best.

CITY HALL (CLM27500) took the lead, yielded and was shuffled, got stuck on the rail into the lane begging for room as the speed collapsed but was wiped out by a breaker.

DRAGON LORE (NW26500) yielded the lead twice and was in the pocket heading home, rallied with good pace to be an impressive second best.

TOP GEAR (NW11000) was behind a breaker early, recovered and got back into the race to be third over in the final turn, shied wide to avoid trouble before the lane, straightened and came on again. Twice bothered and still coming on earns a look or two in next.

Sunday, August 10

ARTICULATE (CLM5000) was out a long way in steady flow of cover and closed strongest in game victory.

GOLD DEUCE (CLMHCP75/10000) tucked, pulled to the half, brushed to the lead and was an easy winner looking like he can do it again.

FITZS Z TAM (CLMHCP75/10000) was on the lead quickly, yielded and was shuffled, pulled with cover to the third panel and closed gamely for second.

Tuesday, August 12

GUILTYWITHANEXCUSE (NW10000) left, tucked, got shuffled to the three-hole, pulled uncovered, challenged the last quarter and was a game third.

SHADY BREEZE (NW7000) was on the lead setting quick fractions as the oval's bias was changing and folded in the lane. Beaten favorite would be hard to beat over a more favorable track.

CELEBRITY COWBOY (NW14500) came wide a long was in the final turn and finished with trot.

ALPHA ALPHA (STALLION) this winning favorite was the only front end horse to hold sway over the last 10 races on the card and did so against a very determined well-bet second choice.
