Pocono: Horses to watch from August 20 - August 26

Wednesday, August 20

MARIE THE ARTIST (CLMHCP75/10000) took the top, yielded, retook, set a pressed pace all the way (from two separate challengers) and gamed out a second place finish to a much fresher fast-finishing second favorite. A chance to breathe would have come in handy.

S A LOWE (CLMHCP75/10000) left from the outside at 90-1, took the lead, yielded for the pocket, tipped to the third panel, went wide around a tired one, battled for the lead to the lane and tired. A better trip could get this one a winners laurel.

MEADOWBRANCH WENDY (NW2/2YOF) made the most costly of breaks at the start, recovered and rallied gamely uncovered the last three-eighths, kept coming and ran out of track.

BABE IN THE CITY (NW2FM) showed much improvement in latest to win with strong stretch rally and can repeat if improvement continues.

SEVENTH CHIP (CLM12500) was out quick to a tuck, pulled uncovered before the half, challenged relentlessly all the way home as the Napolitano brothers waged a family feud for the front end.

Friday, August 22

SPIRIT OF DESIRE (NW13000FM) was a game uncovered second best in last at 11-1 on the board.

SCREEN THE CALL (NW4000) rallied gamely to the wire but was a second best to the pacesetter in most recent outing.

BALLINEEN (NW10000FM) left, tucked, race second over to the favorite last three-eighths and closed well.

Saturday, August 23

MILLIONDOLLARTOUCH (CLMHCP15/20000) was uncovered and game to get second to the pocket sitting favorite in last.

SHARK DRESSED MAN (CLM12500) tipped in the final turn and closed strongly but a few steps too late in good second place finish.

WAITING ON A WOMAN (PFRHCP) took the lead, yielded and was shuffled, finished well but had too far to come.

DRY GULCH (CLMHCP20/25000) rallied a long time wide in the final turn going around poor cover and seems more than capable of a winning move in next.

Sunday, August 24

BAD FEELING (CLM15000FM) was used hard thougout in long battle and proved strongest by a nose.

ALL TERROR (CLM15000FM) tucked early, pulled uncovered and engaged in a ding-dong battle with the top one to the wire.

DIANES SHARK (CL7500) finished full of pace and just missed at the wire.

ALLIES DRAGON (NW1) was in the pocket, bothered and had to take up when the leader broke costing him his chance.

RED HOT NATIVE (NW3) was in the pocket and appeared to want out in the final turrn but was in too much traffic. When finally clear he was outkicked. He is ready to win with the right trip.

Tuesday, August 26

ORILLIA JOE (NW7000) finished well from second over on a night made for speed as half of the 16 winners won on the front end.

FOOLS REVENUE (NW10500) proved to be gamest coming uncovered getting up in the last steps.

WESTERN CREDIT (NW15000) finished fastest through the lane to be second best at the wire to the front-stepping odds-on favorite.
