Plans pending for Spritely Walker

Trainer Steve Asmussen does not have any immediate next-race plans for Spritely Walker, who is arguably the best Louisiana-bred in training. Spritely Walker won his fourth straight race Friday night, when he took the $50,000 Bayou State for statebreds at Delta Downs.

"We're very proud of him," said Asmussen. "He's a lot of fun to run."

Owned by Heiligbrodt Racing Stable, Spritely Walker was purchased privately last year and comes from a powerful family. His dam has produced multiple stakes winners Hope List, an earner of $601,475; Knight Woman, $515,376; and Knight Man, $279,778.

Spritely Walker is a winner of 7 of 14 starts and $399,579. His recent stakes wins include the $150,000 Louisiana Champions Day Classic at his Fair Grounds base, and the $200,000 Louisiana Premier Night Championship at Delta.
