Planoncometbebopin tops Carmel 'Cap

SAN MATEO, Calif.- Planoncometbebopin, who has won four of her six career starts, including two stakes, heads a field of nine 3-year-old fillies in the $50,000 Carmel Handicap at 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Bay Meadows.

Planoncometbebopin finished fifth in a $32,000 maiden-claiming race in her career debut, but has been virtually flawless since then. She won her next start at the same level, then stretched out to a mile and won a $32,000 starter allowance race. After finishing third in an allowance race in her turf debut, she

rebounded to post win the Pleasanton Senorita. Returned to the Bay Meadows turf for the Floral Fiesta, she rallied from last place at the top of the stretch to win going away be a length.

The daughter of Game Plan may be favored Saturday, an unusual role. In her four wins, she went off at odds of 8-1, 18-1, 7-1, and 5-1.

The main threats on Saturday are probably Super Tuesday, who finished fifth at 4-5 in the Floral Fiesta but has come back with some strong works for trainer Dean Pederson, and Blushing Ballerina, who has been competing in graded stakes in Southern California.
