Trainer Scott Blasi completed a sweep of the weekend's Thoroughbred stakes at Zia Park on Saturday, when he sent out Plaid to win the $83,800 Chaves County. His other weekend stakes win at the track came on Friday, with Western Prize in the $82,700 Eddy County.

In the Chaves County for fillies and mares, Plaid ($3.80) was content to stalk the pace set by Show Me Your Glory, who led the field through an opening quarter in 23.80 seconds, a half-mile in 47.40 seconds, and six furlongs in 1:12.40. Plaid got a head in front of the leader in the stretech, and proceeded to win by a length and a half. She covered the one-mile distance in 1:38.20. Show Me Your Glory was second, finishing well clear of third-place finisher Visual Effect.

Roman Chapa rode Plaid for Blasi, and was also aboard Western Prize on Friday.

Plaid earned $50,280 for her win in the Chaves County. She has now won 11 of 34 starts and $387.067. Plaid races for J. Kirk and Judy Robison.
