Pioneerof the Nile filly zips three furlongs for OBS sale

Email

A 3-year-old Pioneerof the Nile filly turned in the fastest time at three furlongs on Monday during the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. winter mixed sale’s optional under-tack show, covering the distance in 32.80 seconds.

The unraced dark bay or brown filly, named Cat in de Nile, is out of the winning Tabasco Cat mare Bojangle’s Cat, who is the dam of four winners from five runners. She is from the family of Irish champion Ragusa and stakes winners Colonel Rutledge and Spa Creek.

Cat in de Nile was bred in Louisiana by Cloyce Clark Jr., and is consigned at the OBS winter mixed sale by McKathan Bros., agent.

The OBS winter mixed sale opens with a consignor select session on Wednesday, followed by an open session, horses of racing age, and supplemental entries on Thursday. Both sessions begin at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.
