Pimlico offering Friday-Saturday pick three

BALTIMORE – Pimlico announced last week that for the first time, it will offer a two-day pick-three wager ending with the Preakness. The 50-cent-minimum bet links the Pimlico Special (the 12th of 13 races Friday) with the Dixie Stakes and Preakness on Saturday.

Pimlico also will continue to offer its long-standing two-day double ($1 minimum) combining the Pimlico Special and Preakness.

There also will be pool guarantees on the following pick-four wagers (50-cent minimum): Friday, races 9-12, $250,000; Saturday, races 5-8, $350,000; and Saturday, races 9-12 (ends with Preakness), $1.5 million.

Finally, the pick-five jackpot wager, which has been building for weeks, will be paid out on Preakness Day, even in the case of no perfect tickets. The carryover into the Thursday card was $118,637, with much more to be added this weekend.

Thanks for brining this to horseplayers' attention. It's is a ridiculously high takeout. They made an interesting bet rather uninteresting.

Your Welcome. It is truly sad that DRF doesn't inform it's loyal customers of the takeout on this bet in the article. But Bloodhorse did.
