Jockey Ryan Fogelsonger sent Cherokee's Boy to the lead in the $150,000 Saturday at Pimlico, and the outcome was never in doubt thereafter. Cherokee's Boy maintained a clear advantage throughout the nine-furlong race, and won by 2 3/4 lengths over five opponents.

Cherokee's Boy, trained by Gary Capuano, set fractions of 24.27 seconds, 48, and 1:12.43, and completed the distance in 1:49.86. He returned $4.60 as the second choice. Penobscot Bay finished second to complete a $14.40 exacta. Cherokee's Boy has now won all three of his starts at Pimlico.

Capuano said Cherokee's Boy may run in the Preakness.

"I'm still not sure whether we're going to go or not," he said. "He ran a big race today so we'll just kind of look at it. There's a chance."

Fogelsonger followed by winning his fifth race of the day aboard P Day ($8.60) in the Grade 3 Baltimore Breeders' Cup Handicap. P Day won by 2 3/4 lengths over favored Changeintheweather. Full Brush finished third.
