ARCADIA, Calif. – The single-ticket jackpot pool of the pick six was hit for $439,362 at Santa Anita on Thursday from a $5,300 ticket. The single-ticket pool had not been hit since April 6, leading to a carryover of $349,792 into Thursday’s card. Bettors added $138,071 on Thursday. The winning ticket was purchased through a Maryland-based hub, according to track officials. The winners of the pick-six races were Demigoddess ($34), Madelyn’s Wild Max ($20.40), Exotic Ghost ($6), Call the Queen ($10.20), Zapperkat ($12.20), and Kona Dreams ($3.80). Exotic Ghost and Kona Dreams were winning favorites. Going into the seventh race, there were seven tickets still in contention, a group narrowed to one after Zapperkat won as the third choice. On April 6, the single-ticket portion of the pool was hit for $1,199,286 by a bettor who spent $14,400 on a ticket at a satellite wagering facility in Lake Forest, Calif., about 60 miles south of Santa Anita. Prior to that, the single-ticket portion of the pool had not been hit since Feb. 20. The single-ticket pool provision was introduced at Santa Anita last December.
