ELMONT, N.Y. – There is a carryover into the pick six and the late pick five at Belmont Park heading into Friday’s card. For the second straight day, no one hit the pick six, resulting in a carryover of $106,743. The sequence on Friday starts with race 4 (3:09 p.m. eastern). The sequence includes four turf races. All of Thursday’s scheduled turf racing stayed on the grass though the nightcap was run in a rainstorm. The late pick five, known as the NYRA Bets pick five, is restricted to those with a NYRA Bets advance deposit wagering account or those who play at a New York state track or off-track betting facility. The late pick five starts with race 5 (3:41 p.m. eastern). Thursday’s pick six was blown up early as Honorable Hero ($58) won the opening leg. That sequence, as well as the pick five, included winners that paid $22.80, $17, $18, and $21.20, and included two horses that won coming off layoffs of a year or longer.
