ARCADIA, Calif. - Ten ticketholders hit the pick six for $101,623 at Santa Anita on Friday, but the single-ticket jackpot carryover pool soared to $212,103 for Saturday’s program.

The single-ticket provision was introduced at the start of the winter-spring meeting on Monday. Friday was the third day of the meet, and there has yet to be a pick six with only one winning ticket, which would trigger a payoff of the jackpot pool.

Friday’s program began with two-day carryovers in the pick six of $361,436 in the main pool and $77,450 in the single-ticket jackpot pool. Bettors added $1,176,250 to the pick six pool on Friday.

The winners of Friday’s pick six races were Kristie’s Heart ($7), Pico Chick ($14.80), Bad Ju Ju ($10.80), Top of the Game ($9.80), Vending Machine ($26.20), and Really a Gem ($6). Really a Gem was the only winning favorite.

With the addition of the single-ticket provision this winter, 70 percent of the net pool is dedicated to tickets with six winners, or to the carryover if no one hits the pick six; 15 percent is paid to consolation tickets; and 15 percent is paid if there is only one winning ticket, or into the carryover pool if no one hits the bet or if there is more than one winning ticket.
