ARCADIA, Calif.- A sequence of longshots on Saturday has led to a pick six carryover of $116,493 for Sunday’s nine-race program at Santa Anita. Sunday’s pool could surpass $500,000 on a program that includes solid field sizes for the pick six races. The pick six covers the fourth through ninth races on a program that begins at 12:30 p.m. Pacific. The pick six races have fields of 9, 8, 10, 14, 11, and 12. There were scratches on Saturday in the eighth and ninth races. In the eighth race, the $75,000 Clocker’s Corner Stakes on the hillside turf course, Horse Laugh and Heir of Storm, will not run. In the ninth race, a maiden claimer at 6 1/2 furlongs, Next Right and Victory Parade are out. The shortest-priced favorites, which could be key selections on some tickets, are early in the sequence. In the fourth race, a maiden race for 3-year-olds over seven furlongs, The Man is 9-5 on the morning line in a field of nine. In the sixth race, an optional claimer over a mile on turf, Prize Exhibit, who was fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf here last October, is the 9-5 favorite on the morning line in a field of 10.
