Pick five carryover of $30K for Friday

After not being hit last Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, the pick five at Laurel Park will have a carryover of $30,341 for Friday’s card.

The sequence will be on races 5-9 and includes two solid optional-claiming races, a first-level race at six furlongs for 3-year-old fillies and a third-level race at 5 1/2 furlongs for fillies and mares.

The other races are a $15,000 claimer for 3-year-old fillies, a $40,000 maiden claimer for 3-year-old fillies, and a restricted $5,000 claimer for fillies and mares.

The optional race for 3-year-old fillies, the sixth, is deep, with favoritism possibly going to Absatootly or Spun Copper. Absatootly has been racing in New York-bred stakes company for trainer Charlton Baker. Spun Copper finished fifth in the Wide Country Stakes for trainer Mike Trombetta while making her first start against winners.

Girls Got Rhythum, Street Cruizer, and Daylight Ahead each come into this race off a good-looking maiden score.

In race 8, the third-level optional race, Lovable Lady, Sweet Fortune, and Fat Kat figure as the top choices. A longshot to consider is Miss Bullistic, who showed improvement for trainer Hamilton Smith in the statebred Conniver Stakes on Jan. 30. She enters off a series of five nicely spaced works.

The takeout on the pick five is 12 percent.
