Philadelphia Park track report

The fact that Royal Siphon hadn't raced since February 2004 didn't scare away many bettors in last Saturday's ninth race feature at Philadelphia Park.

Royal Siphon, a 5-year-old gelding trained by Clifford Sise, made his first start outside Southern California a success by scoring a 1 1/4-length victory in a second-level allowance as the 5-2 favorite.

* Penn National shippers don't win very frequently at Philly Park, but they accounted for back-to-back wins on Tuesday's program.

In race 6, River Transport ($16.20), coming off a 12-length score over maiden claimers, won by 3 1/2 lengths stepping up to face $16,000 claiming foes going 1 1/16 miles. One race later, Sunshine Natalie ($10), a maiden who had already lost five times at Philly Park, returned off a second-place finish at Penn National to post a half-length victory when stretched out to a mile for the first time.
