When her main rival Harmony Lodge was scratched, Ebony Breeze looked like a standout in the $100,000 My Juliet Stakes at Philadelphia Park. Ebony Breeze got the job done, but it wasn't particularly easy.

Ebony Breeze ($3.20) broke last in a field of five older fillies and mares and still had 2 1/2 lengths to make up on pacesetter She is Raging with a quarter-mile remaining in the six-furlong race. Jockey Heberto Castillo urged Ebony Breeze with left-handed whipping, and she responded by taking the lead in deep stretch and drawing off to a one-length victory. Her time for six furlongs over a fast track was 1:10.62.

A 4-year-old trained by Bill Mott, Ebony Breeze had not won in five starts since taking the Grade 3 Azalea Breeders' Cup at Calder last July.

She is Raging easily held second, 6 1/2 lengths in front of Balmy.
