Email

Grade 2 winner Petionville will relocate to Murmur Farm in Darlington, Md., for the 2014 breeding season, BloodHorse reports. He will stand for an advertised fee of $6,000.

The 22-year-old son of Seeking the Gold stood the past two seasons at Penn Ridge Farm near Harrisville, Pa. He will remain the property of Everest Stable, which bought the horse for $190,000 at the 1993 Keeneland September yearling sale and campaigned him during his racing career.

Petionville has sired 15 crops of racing age, led by multiple Grade 1 winner Island Fashion, Grade/Group 2 winners Two Step Salsa, Runway Model, Publication, Caught in the Rain, and Hour Glass, and Grade 3 winners Voodoo, True Passion, and Sailors Sunset.

Bred in Kentucky by Glencrest Farm, Petionville is out of the stakes-winning Wavering Monarch mare Vana Turns, whose five winners from 10 foals to start also include Kentucky Oaks winner Pike Place Dancer and French stakes winner Midnight Foxtrot. Second dam The Wheel Turns is a Grade 3 winner.

Petionville won seven of 15 career starts for earnings of $811,905. He was a graded stakes winner on multiple surfaces, winning the Grade 2 Ohio Derby and Grade 3 Louisiana Derby on dirt and the Grade 3 La Jolla Handicap on the turf.

Regardless of his age Petionville is in high gear for improving on his good numbers. Good Timing Murmur Farm, and that should be the name of his first foal at Murmur!! Good luck and take care of him! Diego García Maracaibo, Venezuela.
