Pennsylvania Horse Breeders to hold stallion season auction

The Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association will conduct its third annual online stallion season auction from Jan. 24-26 to benefit the group’s political action committee and the racehorse retirement program Turning For Home.

Among the offerings are sires standing in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, New York, Maryland, Indiana, Ontario, and Ohio. The roster of stallions includes Pennsylvania-based Wiseman’s Ferry, sire of 2012 Horse of the Year Wise Dan, and 2004 Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones.

Also featured are stallions from Kentucky farms such as Darby Dan Farm, WinStar Farm, Lane’s End, Darley, Wintergreen Stallion Station, Spendthrift Farm, Buck Pond Farm and Adena Springs.
