Penn National track report

Ron Scott, a Thoroughbred owner in the mid-Atlantic region for over two decades, scored with another breed of animal when Surrey Spice Girl, a miniature poodle he owns with his wife, Barbara, won the best-in-show award at the Westminster Kennel Club's 126th annual show at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Scott, who lives in Silver Springs Township, Pa., near Penn National Race Course, races divisions of his stable in partnership with his brother, Rick, at Penn National and Charles Town. He has also branched out this year to race horses at Laurel Park and Philadelphia Park with the nation's leading trainer in wins last year, Scott Lake.
