Julian Pimentel guides Ben's Cat to victory over favored Ribo Bobo in the $250,000 Fabulous Strike Handicap on Wednesday.

Ben's Cat, under Julian Pimentel, stalked the pace early and rallied into the stretch to win the $250,000 Fabulous Strike Handicap at Penn National on Wednesday evening.

Trained by King Leatherbury, Ben's Cat patiently awaited room and was angled out in the stretch to wear down the pace-setting Ribo Bobo to win by a half-length. The 4-5 favorite, Ribo Bibo finished second, 3 1/4 lengths in front of Good Morning Diva in third.

The running time for the six furlongs over a track rated as good was 1:09.74 and Ben's Cat returned $9.80 to win.

In the other three stakes on the card:

* Gracer, under Joe Rocco, went from flagfall to that's all to win the $75,500 Blue Mountain Juvenile for 2-year-old Pennsylvania-bred fillies. Trained by Tony Dutrow, Gracer won by 3 3/4 lengths in ridden-out fashion. Raging Smoke was second, 7 1/4 lengths in front of Chasing the Moon in third. Gracer ran the six furlongs in 1:11.02 and returned $3.60 to win.

* Five Star Momma held off She's Ordained to win the $150,000 Lady in Waiting by a neck. Ridden by Julian Pimentel for trainer Jena Antonucci, FIve Star Momma returned $8.60 to win and she ran the six furlongs in 1:11.78. Sweet Cassiopea was third.

* Taptowne led from start to finish to win the $150,000 Swatara going 1 1/16 miles by 5 1/4 lengths as the even-money favorite. Trained by Tim Glyshaw and ridden by Brian Hernandez, Taptowne was held just off the early pace before showing his class in the stretch. A.P. Ono was second, a neck in front of Ponzi Scheme in third. The running time was 1:44.09 and Taptowne returned $4 to win.

I always bet on Ben purely out of sentimental reason......my first cat's name was Ben (yeah yeah I know its semantics) and I had to put him to sleep 15 months ago. I miss him so much and as fate would have it a couple of days later i came across an article on DRF (before that plus garbage was put into effect obviously) about a horse named Ben's Cat. The rest, is history. Thanks to his latest win, a portion of my winnings go to animal charities and another portion....hello PS4!

7-2 on Bens Cat, what was everyone thinking., This Cat is a winning machine. Wish I could have gotten some money on him. Wow, 7-2 Who is Ribo Bibo anyway....

2-1 at the loading- the Cat moved up to 7/2..a great ride by Julian..went with the speed early..backed off and came charging home. A great job by the King(as always). No shame on Paco or Bibo..he held that win streak together to the very end(10 straight). Use those winning King and come back with a triple crown candidate!

sometimes there are just incredible gifts out there. I took a $100 straight exacta . plus a $10 back up the other way. Put out 110 and get back $1,040 Merry Christmas!!!

Be lucky that you didn't know who Bobo is .... You would've lost your last 9 bets straight so 7-2 wouldn't have gotten you a profit.

Ribo Bobo is no slouch. He's had a decent year. Beat Immortal Eyes in September.

I agree with everyone Ribo is in career form but the Cat is all class. You can't even compare. The cat was supposed to win but this is horse racing but everyone saw Ribos beyers and those straight wins that's wat made him favorite but honestly shouldn't have been. Would love for the ruler of Dubai to invite this horse for the Al Quoz Sprint would have a big chance
