Peach of It: Ms. Lydonia via DQ

Ms. Lydonia wins by DQ in the $91,500 Peach of It Handicap at Hawthorne on Saturday.

Favored Jaguar City took the lead on the backstretch and finished first in the $91,500 Peach of It Handicap, but she lost the race at the start, when Jaguar City and jockey Graham swerved inward immediately after breaking from the gate. The horse next to her, Arsen Annie, was forced in and clipped heels, sending jockey Jesse Campbell flying. Jaguar City held off Ms. Lydonia in the stretch, but stewards disqualified her to last. Ms. Lydonia was moved up to first, Cashmere Miss to second, and Di's Delight to third.

Emigh had sent Ms. Lydonia to the lead going into the first turn, but Jaguar City forged to the front on the backstretch and raced through the stretch with the riderless horse, beating Ms. Lydonia by more than six lengths. Her victory, though, was short-lived.

Ms. Lydonia is trained by Christine Janks, who co-owns her with William Lydon.
