Pay the Man heads entry

Trainer Miguel Feliciano will hold a strong hand when he sends out a three-horse entry to face 11 other Ohio-bred fillies and mares in the $50,000 J. William Petro Memorial Handicap on Saturday at Thistledown.

Pay the Man is the top horse in the entry. She has won 2 of her 4 starts this year, including the six-furlong Angenora Stakes at Thistledown on April 21. In her last race, on June 9, she led every step of the way of 1 1/16-mile allowance to win as her rider pleased by 10 lengths.

Bright Pyrite will lend strong support to her entrymate. She won this race last year and has a win and two thirds from three starts this season. Completing the entry is The Lady Waffles.

Pay the Man's main opposition should come from Bold Passage and Imahoneytoo.

Bold Passage, trained by Wayne McDonnell, won the Decoration Day Handicap on the grass at Mountaineer Park going a mile in her most recent effort May 28. She comes into this race at the top of her game and will be hard to handle.

Imahoneytoo was the Ohio-bred champion mare in 2006 and has a win and one third from three starts this year. A tried and true router, she is owned by Ronald Zielinski and trained by his son, Richard.
