Party Girl attracts two fond of track

Toast Butter and En Trepeins Jewel look to return to their stakes-winning form at Louisiana Downs on Saturday in the $60,000 Party Girl Stakes. Both horses won stakes at the track last year.

Toast Butter won the Grade 2 Louisiana Downs Champions Classic by 1 1/2 lengths with a strong closing kick. She has since raced to a pair of third-place efforts in stakes, including the Harrah's Distaff in her latest start.

En Trepeins Jewel has two career stakes wins, both over the Louisiana Downs track. She won the Mardi Gras Derby last March and the Grade 2 Louisiana Downs Champions Derby, her most recent victory, in July. In her three subsequent starts, she has finished off the board twice at Evangeline Downs and once at Fair Grounds.

La Jollas Game was claimed for $10,000 out of a winning effort on Oct. 27 and has been competitive in two starts for her new connection in optional claiming races, finishing second, beaten a neck, and third, beaten by a head.
