DEL MAR, Calif. – Game On Dude, who won the Hollywood Gold Cup in his last start, drew post 9 and was installed as the 5-2 favorite when a field of 10 was entered and post positions drawn on Wednesday night for the Grade 1, $1 million Pacific Classic on Sunday at Del Mar. The draw took place at Burlap, a popular local restaurant a few miles from the track.
There were no surprises at the draw, as the 10 expected to enter the 1 1/4-mile race did. Norvsky, whose owners briefly flirted with running in the Pacific Classic, instead will be entered in the Del Mar Mile on turf on Sunday, which had been the first choice for him all along.

Richard’s Kid, a two-time winner of the Pacific Classic, drew post 3 and is the 7-2 second choice on the line of Del Mar’s Russell Hudak.
Hudak made the filly Amani and another South American import, Suggestive Boy, co-third choices at 5-1.
The field, from the rail out, including riders and morning-line odds, is Rail Trip, Jose Valdivia Jr., 10-1; Amani, Garrett Gomez, 5-1; Richard’s Kid, Victor Espinoza, 7-2; Where’s Sterling, Paco Lopez, 15-1; Dullahan, Joel Rosario, 6-1; Akkadian, Martin Garcia, 20-1; Jaycito, Rafael Bejarano, 12-1; Suggestive Boy, Joe Talamo, 5-1; Game On Dude, Chantal Sutherland, 5-2; and Riveting Reason, David Flores, 30-1.
Ron Ellis, the trainer of Rail Trip, said his horse has “an appropriate name for where he’s drawn.”
“I’d rather be there than 10,” Ellis said.

Rosario- reminds me of a 3rd rate jock at toga`.
he'll wish he never left cozy confines of the weak west coast.

Rosario might want to stay back in Cali--NY too tuff for him.

I so badly wanted to see Acclimation in this race.

this is seriously one the worst Morning Lines I've ever seen for a race
how is dullahan 6-1 and not 30-, why there is so much love for this nag of a horse and Richards Kid 7/2 should be about 8-1
Game On Dude should be 3-5 with Rail Trip and Jaycito as 2nd and 3rd choices
|
I think Richards Kid has this race. It should be another match with GoD in the lead until the home stretch. I like Rail Trip in the box.
|
I am betting one reason Bafferts is so so angry losing Richards Kid is that GOD is NOT doing as wonderfully as he keeps saying and actually Richards Kid was his truly strong candidate, I think GOD will not hit the board.
|
I do see how Game on Dude looses. He runs up front where he always gets a good trip & is game as can be even in late stretch.
|
Dullahan. Proving Romans has top three year old, not the top but he is still running

MONCLOVA galloped out strongly after closing belatedly in her second trip postward May 26, from which the runner-up exited to graduate with a 68 Beyer. The daughter of Queen's Plate winner Niigon is bred to run long, and can break through with the stretchout from six and a half furlongs to a mile and a sixteenth. BE MIND PHIL is returning on short rest off a closing second in her debut, going a mile around one turn on the grass. She has a blend of speed and stamina in her pedigree.
