Owners to address share of ads

The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association has set up a committee to issue recommendations on how revenue from advertising on jockeys should be distributed, the association announced Friday.

The four-member committee will "present a plan that benefits the entire sport and creates opportunities for new revenues," said Dan Metzger, the president of the association. The committee will consist of horse owners Bill Casner, Cot Campbell, Trudy McCaffery, and Debby Oxley, TOBA said.

"Owners make a multibillion-dollar investment into racing each year," said Metzger, "and we believe that they should be very involved in the process of jockey advertising."
