ARCADIA, Calif. - Our Mango, the longest shot in a field of 12, scored a nose win in the $150,000 , the biggest win of the 5-year-old mare's career.

Ridden by Russell Baze, Our Mango rallied from seventh to prevail over Western Hemisphere, the 9-5 favorite. Market Garden, who led in early stretch, finished third in the field of 10 fillies and mares. There were seven fillies and mares within two lengths at the finish.

Our Mango ($100.20) ran about 6 1-2 furlongs on turf in 1:12.63. The victory marked her second stakes win of the year; in August, she won the minor Elie Destruel Handicap over six furlongs at Santa Rosa.

Our Mango was the only Northern California-based horse to win on the California Cup program.

A winner of 5 of 28 starts and $245,718, Our Mango races for Para Dice Acres and is trained by Steve Specht.

"She likes to sit off the pace and this time she got a hole to run through," Specht said.
