Our Emblem staying in Brazil

Our Emblem, sire of 2002 classic winner and champion War Emblem, will remain in Brazil after being sold to TNT Stud, according to Taylor Made Farm.

Taylor Made had stood Our Emblem since 2003 and had shuttled him to TNT Stud for the last two Southern Hemisphere breeding seasons.

By Mr. Prospector out of champion Personal Ensign, Our Emblem was a Grade 1-placed sprinter. He began his stud career at Claiborne Farm in Paris, Ky. Claiborne sold him for $200,000 in 2001 to Marylanders Allen and Audrey Murray, who took Our Emblem to their Murmur Farm in Darlington and syndicated him. The following spring, two of his 3-year-old runners, War Emblem and Private Emblem, emerged as Triple Crown contenders. War Emblem went on to win the 2002 Kentucky Derby and Preakness, and Private Emblem, unplaced in the Derby, became a Grade 2 winner. War Emblem later was voted champion 3-year-old male.

Taylor Made and WinStar Farm, both in central Kentucky, partnered to buy Our Emblem from the Murrays for about $10 million in May 2002. They relocated him from Maryland to Taylor Made in Nicholasville, Ky.
