One Fine Dream easily wins the Iowa Stallion Stakes.

One Fine Dream rolled to a blowout victory as the odds-on favorite in the $85,009 Iowa Stallion Stakes on Saturday at Prairie Meadows.

Always prominent under Shane Laviolette after breaking from post 1, One Fine Dream seized control of the one-mile, 70-yard race on the far turn and drew away through the homestretch to win by 11 lengths over Scrutinizer. Count N Gold finished another neck behind in third. One Fine Dream was timed in 1:42.62 and paid just $3 as the heavy favorite.

Kelly Von Hemel trains One Fine Dream, a 3-year-old Iowa-bred son of Woke Up Dreamin, for the Umbrella Stables. The Iowa Stallion Stakes, sponsored by the Iowa Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, is open to horses whose sires were part of an auction that takes place each December, and whose owners made two nominating payments to keep their horses eligible for the race.
