Okie Diva was named the 2017 Oklahoma-bred Horse of the Year during a recent banquet put on by the Thoroughbred Racing Association of Oklahoma. She won three of six starts last year, including the Useeit Stakes in December at Remington Park. Okie Diva, who also was the state’s champion 3-year-old filly, is a daughter of Chitoz who races for her breeder, the Richter Family Trust. She is trained by Donnie Von Hemel. Center Hills Farm was honored as the leading breeder during the banquet, while Euroears was honored as the top stallion. The industry service award went to Van French.
