Ohio Star's last outing impressed

Email

Ohio Star, a homebred daughter of Pioneering, is owned by Rocking H Two farm and trained by William Connelly. She was third in her career debut at Arlington Park on July 8 going 4 1/2 furlongs, a race in which she bled. Connelly added Lasix to her medication for the Tah Dah.

John McKee will come in to ride.

Cowgirls Rule and Country Club Sue, who dead-heated for the third spot in the Tah Dah, should be the main opposition.

Country Club Sue won her career debut at River Downs on June 30 and then turned in an even performance in the Tah Dah. A Tenpins filly, she has the speed to be well placed, and a little improvement could make her a sharp factor. Hector Rosario Jr. will ride for trainer William Cowans.

Cowgirls Rule has won 1 of 4 career starts, all of which have come at River Downs. She was unplaced in the Hoover Stakes there before finishing third in the Tah Dah.

Tim Hamm trains Cowgirls Rule, and Weldon Cloninger Jr. will be in the irons.
