Trainer Joe Offolter won his 1,000th Thoroughbred race in North America on Monday, when Heademoffatthepass romped by 4 1/4 lengths in the third race at Will Rogers Downs. Quincy Hamilton was aboard Heademoffatthepass ($11.40) in the maiden special weight sprint for fillies and mares. Offolter won the first race of his career Nov. 23, 1988 and Remington Park. He has long been a mainstay in Oklahoma. Offolter has had 7,671 Thoroughbred starters through Monday, and those horses have earned more than $13.8 million. Some of his top runners through the years have included the stakes winners Holiday Mischief, Miss Natalie, Capture the Flag and Strawbailey.
