Oelectra wins closing-day feature

Oelectra ($10), ridden by Rosie Napravnik, held off even-money favorite Circuit Breaker by a neck to win the closing-day feature at Pimlico, the $50,000 Whimsical, for filly and mare sprinters.

* Josue Arce, 22, who was brought to Maryland from South Florida by trainer Scott Lake at the beginning of Pimlico's meet in April, finished as the meet's leading rider.

Arce rode 30 winners, four more than Rosie Napravnik, to earn his first career riding title. He teamed up with Lake, the meet's leading trainer, for a four-win day on May 3. Twenty-two of Arce's wins were for the Lake barn.

Lake topped the trainer standings at Pimlico for the third consecutive year, winning 23 races, 13 more than Benny Feliciano. Lake had five multiple win days.

Robert Cole was the leader in the owner standings, finishing first 10 times. Cole won races with four different trainers (Lake, Feliciano, Stephanie Beattie, and Howard Wolfendale) on May 9.
