'Oceans' looks set for 3-peat


EDMONTON, Alberta - Oceans Seven seeks his third straight victory as he heads a field of 10 horses entered for a $13,000 claiming price at Northlands Park Sunday.

Oceans Seven, a 5-year-old owned by Donver Stable and trained by Greg Tracy, has beaten $10,000 and $13,000 claimers in succession. Stephan Heiler retains the mount on Oceans Seven, who breaks from post 6.

Tricky Toy, owned by Buddy Bensmiller, has received a quick promotion after beating $7,500 conditioned claimers in his first outing of the year. He will be ridden by Rickey Walcott.

Big Sky River, with Real Simard up, appears poised to account for his second win of the season after a pair of recent runner-up finishes for Sunday's price. Earlier, Big Sky River defeated $15,000 claimers at Calgary's spring meet, where he also was second twice.

Takethefifth, Chattabucktoo, Royal Group, and Tycoon County also sport single wins this year.

The 11-year-old Roll on Albion makes his seasonal debut. Trainer Sharon Bott has assigned apprentice Nadia Dohnalova to ride. Roll on Albion has 10 lifetime wins.

Also in the field are Prospective Hit and Badger Bob, still winless in 2005.

* Deputy County, winner of his last two stakes starts here, heads nine nominees for the $50,000 Westerner at 1 1/16 miles here Aug. 21. Beau Brass, who was runner-up to Deputy County in both the Spangled Jimmy and the Klondike, is also nominated to the Westerner.
