Ocala Stud releases 2014 roster with fees

J. Michael O’Farrell’s Ocala Stud released its advertised stud fees for the 2014 breeding season Wednesday, with the fees for all of its returning stallions unchanged from last year, and a new addition in Grade 2 winner Prospective.

The Ocala, Fla., farm’s roster is led by High Cotton, who will stand for $7,500. The 10-year-old Dixie Union horse, a Grade 3 winner during his racing career, is the sire of three crops of racing age led by Grade 1 winner Currency Swap. Other successful runners by High Cotton include Grade 2 winner Spurious Precision and Grade 2-placed stakes winners Speak Logistics and Tarpy’s Goal.

Prospective was announced as Ocala Stud’s newest addition earlier this month, and will stand his debut season for a fee of $5,000. The 4-year-old son of Malibu Moon finished his on-track career with seven wins in 17 starts for earnings of $719,130. His résumé is highlighted by wins in the Grade 2 Tampa Bay Derby and the Grade 3 Grey Stakes and Ohio Derby.
