OBS Sale: Quartet of 2-year-olds share fastest time of 10 seconds

Four juveniles posted the fastest one-furlong time of 10 seconds Sunday for the fastest eighth-mile time at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s final under-tack show session before its June 2-year-old and racing-age sale begins Tuesday.
The four were Hip No. 522, a Freud-Coming Home Queen colt; Hip No. 599, a Pulpit-Exogenetic colt; Hip No. 649, a Notional-Greer Lynn colt; and Hip No. 701, a Holy Bull-My Oh My colt.
Hip Nos. 498 and 556 posted Sunday’s quickest time, 21 seconds, for a quarter-mile.. Hip No. 498 is a Flatter-Cat Out colt, and Hip No. 556 is a Midnight Lute-Deep South filly.
Sunday’s best juvenile time over three-eighths was by Hip No. 503, a Sarava-Champagneforaqueen filly, who covered the distance in 33.80 seconds. But a 4-year-old Tiznow colt bettered that when he breezed three-eighths in 33.40 seconds. The son of Six Pack Sally is cataloged as Hip No. 669.
One juvenile cataloged among the auction’s supplemental entries worked a half-mile. That was Hip No. 699, a Toccet daughter of Lydia Louise, who was clocked in 47.20 seconds.
On Saturday, six 2-year-olds worked a furlong in 10 seconds. Those six fastest furlong workers were Hip No. 302, a Tiz Wonderful-Splendid Honor colt; Hip No. 316, a Bold n’ Flashy-Stormy Kristine colt; Hip No. 390, a Put It Back-White Ruffle filly; Hip No. 402, a Henny Hughes-With Lemon colt; Hip No. 440, a Pomeroy-April True colt; and Hip No. 463, a Read the Footnotes-Beppin colt.
Saturday’s fastest quarter-mile work, in 20.80 seconds, belonged to Hip No. 408, a Spring At Last filly out of Zahwah.
Three juveniles posted the Saturday session’s fastest three-eighths time of 33.80 seconds. They were Hip No. 263, a Love of Money-Sheza Pretty Gal colt; Hip No. 355, a Double Honor-Tricky Thunder gelding; and Hip No. 447, a Simon Pure-Ashwin colt.
The June sale takes place Tuesday and Wednesday at the OBS facility in Ocala, Fla. Sessions start each day at 10:30 a.m.
