OBS sale: Henny Hughes filly shades 10 seconds in Tuesday under-tack show

A Henny Hughes filly was the only juvenile to break the 10-second barrier Tuesday at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s first under-tack session for its spring 2-year-old sale next week. The bay filly, a duaghter of the Cape Town mare Cape Discovery, was the fastest worker over a furlong with a 9.8-second breeze. She will go through the ring as Hip No. 233.

A trio of fillies put up the day’s quickest time over a quarter-mile, 20.6 seconds. Hip No. 28 is a Put It Back filly out of stakes winner Wabash Gal and a half-sister to stakes winner Sheza Pretty Gal. Hip No. 201 is a daughter of first-crop sire Ready’s Image out of the Boundary mare Bound to Blush. Hip No. 278 also is by a freshman sire, Cowtown Cat, and out of stakes-placed Classy Daniela, by Regal Classic.

Hip No. 64, a Halo’s Image colt out of the Helmsman mare Windjammin Lady, had the fastest three-eighth-mile work when he covered the distance in 33.2 seconds.

All breezes took place over the OBS facility’s SafeTrack synthetic surface in Ocala, Fla.

The OBS spring 2-year-old sale will take place April 23-26 with each session beginning at 10:30 a.m. The under-tack shows continue through Friday starting each day at 8 a.m.
