OBS preview: Indian Charlie filly fastest

An Indian Charlie filly posted Friday’s fastest eighth-mile work in 9.8 seconds at the final under-tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s March select juvenile auction.

The two-day sale is set for March 13-14 at the OBS facility in Ocala, Fla. Sessions are at 11 a.m.

The Indian Charlie filly is out of the Forestry runner Winter Forest, a full sister to Grade 2-placed stakes-winner Ever Elusive. Old South Farm, agent, consigns her as Hip No. 213.

A Pomeroy filly and a Read the Footnotes colt each put up the day’s fastest quarter-mile time of 20.8 seconds. Hip No. 208, the Pomeroy daughter of Willie Brook, by Montbrook, is in agent Eddie Woods’s consignment. She’s a half-sister to stakes-placed Peachy Kiss. Hip No. 298, the Read the Footnotes colt, is out of the unraced Dixie Union mare Dixie Talent. He’s from the family of Grade 3 winner No Giveaway. Greg and Karen Dodd’s Southern Chase agency is the consignor.

Friday’s fastest times were the same as the quickest posted for those distances at Thursday’s under-tack show opener. At that preview, a Johannesburg-Quiet City colt covered an eighth-mile in 9.8 seconds and a pair of colts, one by Bluegrass Cat-Mesmerizing Lady and the other by Montbrook-My Golden Quest, traveled a quarter-mile in 20.8 seconds.
