OBS June: Six work fastest furlong on Friday


A sextet of juveniles breezed an eighth of a mile in :9 4/5 seconds to lead Friday’s session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. June 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age sale breeze show.

Friday’s session brought the number of horses tied for the fastest overall time over one furlong during the OBS June under-tack show to 13. Following are the six juveniles to breeze the fastest eighth on Friday over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

► Hip No. 783, an In Summation filly out of the winning Forestry mare Rare Elegance, who is the dam of three winners from as many runners. Consigned by Boutte Sales, agent, the Florida-bred’s page features U.S. champion Storm Song, Singapore champion Better Life, Grade 2 winner Diamond Omi, Japanese Group 2 winner Midsummer Fair, and Grade/Group 3 winners High Cotton, Casis, Angel Terrace, and Asperity.

► Hip No. 876, Yes Hezsocool, A Yes It’s True colt who is the second foal out of the Tale of the Cat mare Shezsocool. He is from the family of Grade 3 winner Cool Spell, and is consigned by Bobby Dodd, agent.

► Hip No. 877, a Parading filly out of the stakes-placed Wild Again mare Shimmering Tale, whose three foals of racing age are all winners, including stakes-placed My Daughter’s Song. The Iowa-bred filly’s family includes stakes winners Jaguar city, Primo Rico, and North to Alaska. Southern Chase Farm consigns the filly as agent.

► Hip No. 922, an Even the Score colt out of the unraced Southern Image mare Southbound, whose two winners from as many winners includes stakes-placed Sweetsoutherndame. Consigned by All Dreams Equine, the colt’s page includes Kentucky Oaks winner Dispute, Grade 1 winners Adjudicating and Time for a Change, Grade 2 winner West Coast Belle, and Irish Group 3 winner Maoineach.

► Hip No. 931, a Flatter filly out of the stakes-winning Trippi mare Splendid Sound. Grade 3 winner Tee Kay and stakes winners Argos Appeal, Special Report, and B C’s Train is on the page of the filly, who is consigned as agent by Niall Brennan Stables.

► Hip No. 932, a Candy Ride colt out of the unraced Deputy Minister mare Spooky Minister. He is a full brother to Grade 3-placed Holy Candy, and his extended family includes Grade 1 winner Lunar Spook, Grade 3 winner Cashel Sastle, and Grade 1-placed Lunarwarfare. Eddie Woods consigns the colt as agent.

A third horse became tied the fastest quarter-mile time of the OBS June breeze show on Friday, stopping the clock in :20 3/5 seconds.

► Hip No. 925, Spectacular Vow, a Broken Vow filly out of the Grade 2-placed Migrating Moon mare Spectacular Moon, who is the dam of one winner from two runners. Consigned by Wavertree Stables, agent, Spectacular Vow is from the family of Grade 3 winner Clandenita.

The OBS June under-tack show concludes Saturday, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Eastern. The sale will be held June 16-19, starting each day at 10:30 a.m.
