O'Brien filly has challenger in Moyglare Stud Stakes

Trainer Aidan O'Brien will be hoping that lightning can strike twice in the $410,000 Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday, when his juvenile filly Listen attempts to land Group 1 laurels in the seven-furlong dash.

A daughter of Sadler's Wells, Listen is a full sister to the 2000 Moyglare Stud winner, Sequoyah, herself the dam of O'Brien's current Group 2 juvenile winner Henrythenavigator. Second in her debut in the listed six-furlong Saoire Stakes at the Curragh in June, Listen was beaten a neck by Campfire Glow in the seven-furlong Group 2 Debutante Stakes at the same track three weeks ago.

But Listen must pay heed to $41,000 supplementary entry Albabilia. Trainer Clive Brittain calls her the best filly he has trained since Sayyedati, who won the first of her five Group 1 races in the 1992 Moyglare Stud. A daughter of King's Best, Albabilia is coming off a win in Newmarket's seven-furlong Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes.

Saoirse Abu leads the three-pronged attack of Jim Bolger. The Mr. Greeley filly beat colts, including Henrythenavigator, in the six-furlong Group 1 Phoenix Stakes on Aug. 12 at the Curragh. A soft-ground specialist, she may benefit most from the yielding conditions underfoot.
