Oaklawn Park lowers minimums on pick three, pick four, and pick six

Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark., will reduce the minimum on three of its wagers for the upcoming meet that opens Jan. 13. The track plans to offer a 50-cent minimum on both the pick three and pick four, which had a previous minimum of $1.

The new minimum for the pick six will be $1.

The changes were made at the request of customers.

“We looked at what other tracks are doing and listened to feedback from our customers in putting together our 2012 wagering menu,” said David Longinotti, assistant general manager for racing at Oaklawn. “We are really looking forward to the start of the meet and seeing how the horseplayers respond.”

Oaklawn already has 50-cent trifectas and 10-cent superfectas in place. The track offers a 17 percent takeout on straight wagers, and 21 percent on all exotic bets. Oaklawn will race through April 14.
