HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Arienza, daughter of 2002 Horse of the Year Azeri who was to make her first start of the year in the $50,000 American Beauty at Oaklawn Park on Sunday, has been scratched from the race. She is entered in a $40,000 optional claiming allowance Thursday.

Quest for Success, who also is entered for Thursday, was another scratch from the American Beauty.

Arienza was to make her first start since November in the American Beauty. Last season at Oaklawn, she won her maiden, an allowance and finished second in the Grade 2 Fantasy.

The race Thursday was an extra. It will be run over six furlongs, the same distance as the American Beauty. Arienza will break from post 7, under Gabe Saez. Dan Peitz trains Arienza for Robert and Lawana Low.

Sharp Tongue Lady was an additional scratch from the American Beauty. The race will go with eight starters Sunday.
